New Fantasy Romance Releases
November 2022

I don’t know about y’all but I always lose track of releases, especially since I’ve got so many good unfinished series on my TBR (to be read list). Here is a little reminder of three fantasy romance books due to be published next month (November 2022) that I cannot wait to get my hands on!

The following books all have adult themes and violent scenes. Please check all trigger warnings before reading.

A Light in the Flame

by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Book Two of the Flesh & Fire Series
Expected published date: 15 November 2022

A Light in the Flame by Jennifer L. Armentrout - an adult fantasy romance series.

A Light in the Flame (ALITF) is the second book in the Flesh and Fire series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. The Flesh and Fire series is the prequel story to the uber popular Blood and Ash series that enraptured the BookTok and Bookstagram community the past year.  I’m hopeful that these two series will merge together at some point but, in the meantime, the Flesh and Fire series is more than just a backstory – it’s a riveting and steamy story in its own right, too!

In A Light in the Flame, I’m hoping for a deeper focus on the relationship between Sera and Nyktos (since book one left them in pretty bad shape) and I’m excited for Sera’s journey as she realises that she can have more in life than what she ever thought possible.

A good TBR contender if you like:

  • banter for days!!
  • Tension & drama by the bucket-load
  • intricate world building
  • spicy spice
  • Draken!!

My Tip – These books are very intricate and technical. If you want a breezy read, this probably isn’t it. It’s best to tackle these bad-boys when you’ve got some free space in the noggin for the beautifully elaborate world building and dynamic cast of characters.

Blood Song by Hollee Mands

Blood Song

by Hollee Mands

Book Three of the Warriors of the Five Realms Series
Expected published date: 18 November 2022

The Warriors of the Five Realms series is a collection of interconnected standalone books but book one, Little Fire, introduces the important world-building that flows through the other books so it’s definitely worth reading first if you haven’t already.

Blood Song is Guildmaster Gabriel’s book, who was introduced in the earlier instalments, and I’m ready to dive back into the Five Realms!

  • Forced proximity
  • Gumpy/sunshine
  • humans/fae (& mages)
  • tension & spice

Please check content warnings as there are scenes and references to abuse and violence.

Untamed

by Lilian T. James

Book Two of the Crystal Island series
Expected published date: 29 November 2022

Untamed by Lilian T. James

Untainted (book one in the Crystal Island series) was one of the last books I read in 2021 and I still think about it today. I started it with absolutely zero expectations, I had not yet seen it on BookTok/Bookstagram but it popped up on my Kindle suggested reads and the cover was pretty so, I gave it a shot.

It was an easy 5-star read for me.

I have literally been counting down the days until the book two, Untamed, release ever since. After the previous publish date (August 2022) was pushed back, I’m desperately hoping to find my Untamed pre-order on my kindle on November 29th.

It is fantasy, it is adventure, it is romance, it is mystery – it is just a downright enjoyable read.

Plus, Untainted has almost all of my favourite tropes:

  • Enemies to lovers
  • Fated mates
  • Hidden identity
  • Hidden/secret power
  • Slow-burn romance (praying Untamed is extra spicy)
  • One bed & one horse (both!!)

And book one’s cliffhanger … !!!

I’ll be anxiously pacing until I can get my hands on Untamed
